From June 2nd to 6th, Nor-Shipping 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the event (1965–2025), returning to Lillestrøm and Oslo with a packed program and a strong international presence. For six decades, Nor-Shipping has been a vital meeting point for the global maritime industry — a platform where innovation, technology, and international cooperation take center stage. As one of the world’s leading maritime nations, Norway has hosted this prestigious event since its founding, welcoming stakeholders from across the globe.

One of this year’s highlights is the increased Brazilian presence: a significant delegation from Brazil will travel to Oslo to attend the conference and reinforce the dialogue on future maritime collaboration.

A Strategic Maritime Alliance

Brazil and Norway have built a strong and trusted relationship over the years in shipping, offshore energy, and maritime innovation. Norwegian shipowners and suppliers have been present in Brazil since the 1970s, and the two countries share common interests in sustainable offshore energy development, green shipping, and maritime digitalization.

Brazil@Nor-Shipping 2025 – June 4th

A key highlight of the week is the full-day seminar Brazil@Nor-Shipping 2025: Future-Proofing Maritime Collaboration Between Brazil and Norway, taking place on June 4th from 08:00 to 17:00 in Hall A2, Studio 4. The seminar is organized by ABRAN (Brazilian Association of Norwegian Shipowners) in collaboration with the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, and supported by the Norwegian Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, Innovation Norway, NBCC, and other key partners.

The event brings together senior executives, government authorities, and industry experts from both countries to address the challenges and opportunities facing the maritime sector amid a rapidly changing global landscape. Topics on the agenda include:

  • Strengthening green shipping collaboration between Brazil and Norway

  • Investing in low-emission solutions and alternative fuels

  • Driving sustainable offshore and shipping innovations

  • Developing green maritime corridors

  • Unlocking investments and regulatory progress in Brazil and the state of Rio de Janeiro

Speakers include Norway’s Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy Marianne Sivertsen Næss, Brazil’s Ambassador to Norway Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos, ANP Director Symone Araújo, and top executives from Vale, Transpetro, ODFJELL SE, Petrobras, along with leading Norwegian maritime companies such as DNV, Maritime Cleantech, Vard, and Kongsberg Maritime.

A Shared Future

With increasing geopolitical and environmental challenges, the maritime sector must become greener, more efficient, and more resilient. Events like Nor-Shipping and initiatives such as Brazil@Nor-Shipping highlight how two ocean nations — Brazil and Norway — can work together to develop technologies, regulations, and strategies to build a more sustainable and future-proof maritime industry.
